Banrach provides an ideal mountain retreat in the Catskills with easy access to skiing in Windham (15 min) and Hunter (25 min). The cabin is surrounded by 14 acres of private woodland and the 142-acre Siuslaw Model Forest, which has beautiful ponds and marked trails to explore. The house is set back from a private road, so the only sound that you can hear are the birds and the babbling creek that borders the property.

In addition to three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, the cabin has lots of room for guests to stretch out and relax. Two separate family rooms provide space for guests to choose their own form of relaxation. One family room has a TV and gaming console. The other family room is centered around a soapstone wood stove with two love seats for catching up on your reading and a gaming table for puzzles or cards. The cabin is stocked with DVDs, CDs, PS3 games, board games, puzzles, cards, and books. Three separate porches create opportunities to enjoy nature while relaxing with a cup of coffee or eating dinner. There is also a dedicated office space, with 50mbps WiFi, if guests need to work remotely. The upstairs bedrooms also include desks for additional workspace.

The log cabin has been recently renovated, with new floors, appliances, and bathrooms. The beds, mattresses, linens, towels, and dishes have also been recently purchased for the use of Banrach’s guests. The kitchen is fully stocked with all of the cookware, gadgets, and serving dishes that you will need to create a feast. The dining room table expands to seat 10 people, and there are place settings for twelve.

Summary: We had a great time on our ski weekend. The home and the surrounding property is large. We had a fun time hiking the forest trails located behind the home. The kitchen and bathrooms are updated. All necessary cookware, plates, sheets and towels were provided. Fast and friendly communication with the property owner as well.
