This expansive seven-bedroom home has a secluded view with a detached guest suite and private pool and tennis court. When Lake Travis is full you can see the beautiful water from the backyard! The character throughout the home is rich, just like the Texas culture. Antique doors leading to the courtyard are reported to be from Alamo Village where John Wayne directed and starred in the movie “The Alamo” during the ’60s. The neighbors say that John Wayne stayed at the house and played tennis here!
The family room boasts a fireplace, TV, a six-seat table for casual dining or games, and a sofa bed. The adjacent Great Room features an impressive stone fireplace, two sofas, a collection of armchairs, and a 70” TV - perfect for large groups to watch movies or sporting events. A large, gourmet kitchen and table for coffee are situated in front of an old stone fireplace. The dining room, with its own fireplace, provides seating for ten.
The main bedroom and a second bedroom are upstairs and overlook the Great room. The main suite has a fireplace, balcony, and a huge walk-in closet with a second laundry room. Its en suite bath boasts two vanities, a soaking tub, and walk-in shower. A twin rollaway bed is also available.One of the guest bedrooms has access to the front porch.
Across the courtyard, the separate guest quarters includes an upstairs main apartment and a studio apartment. The upstairs suite has a full kitchen, private balcony, and living area with a sleeping area, 55” TV, Xbox, and fireplace, as well as a large bedroom with an en suite bathroom. The downstairs suite has a twin daybed with twin trundle that includes linens to combine into a king bed as well as an en suite bath with a walk-in shower.
This home truly is a find. You are in the heart of the Hill Country and although you will love the solitude, tennis, and swimming, there are great finds in the area. There are 18 Hill Country wineries, five microbreweries, and more than eight public golf courses within an hour drive. Check out Spicewood Winery and Stone House Vineyard six miles away. Bring home a bottle to enjoy on the back deck with stunning views from the unheated pool.
For horseback riding, enjoy a guided trail ride from Silver's Trails in Spicewood.
